Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:

Should have recent LTE Design experience
Solid understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory.
Vendor hardware experience a plus
Experience with various drive test units.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills. Mongo, Vertica, python, j-meter, UNIX, Oracle DB, Excel macros and SQL programming a plus.
Moderate MapInfo and planning tool skills
Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure.
Education and Experience BS or Masters in Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent technical degree; or equivalent work experience required

Job Description:

The Associate Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer is involved in learning how to perform the analysis, design, implementation and enhancement of wireless telecommunications networks. These include existing and planned networks for cellular and digital mobile phone and data transmission networks. Basic background knowledge in cellular systems, mobile radio propagation environment, widely used prediction models and measurement techniques is a requirement. Responsibilities include linking budgets, system dimensioning for coverage and capacity including traffic analysis, site RF equipment, initial system design and dimensioning, RF coverage planning, site identification and evaluation, frequency planning and interference analysis.

 

Job Duties:

Perform RF drive testing and field study analysis
Perform analysis of measured data
Devise test plans, test site scheduling, equipment calibration and setup, RF signal measurement and data analysis.
Define the requirements and establish the design criteria to identify the network planning tools to use and the required databases.
Perform measurement integration into the planning tool; in order to tailor the tool for the specific design market environment.
Identify base station sites for system coverage provision, and perform site surveys with other network implementation teams, in order to verify suitability of the sites for zoning, acquisition and construction.
Implement high performance operational wireless networks which include initial RF network design, re-design, regular design reviews, RF build verification, system RF acceptance, optimization and continuous technical support to all deployment teams.

 

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
Basic knowledge of GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE and/or 5G networks
Familiar with comprehensive planning tools, e.g. Asset, Atoll, Plannet, Mapinfo a PLUS.
Flexible to travel and work under aggressive project time-scales.


Requirements: At least 5+ years’ experience in SW/HW integration or system testing vendor wireless radio access products 5G/4G Knowledge on RF is a plus Understand E2E 5G, 4G network implementation Excellent knowledge of LTE and 5G radio interface protocols Good familiarity with LTE and 5G L1 and L2 concepts (OFDM, RRM, Frame structure, Beamforming , scheduler, etc) Ability to understand and evaluate internal/external (3GPP) specifications Experience with test analysis, test planning and test case design Strong experience with system testing and troubleshooting

Proactive monitoring, diagnosis, on-call rotation, and resolution of issues in a 24×7 of the multi-cloud environment (OpenStack), analyze failures and provide support for software engineers to debug production issues across microservices and distributed platforms.
